Obituary

Mary Eileen Sprague, 85, passed away April 3, 2014, at Mercy Villa, Springfield. She was born February 15, 1928, in Buffalo, MO, to Floyd and Gladys Reser. Mary lived and grew up in Buffalo. Her family owned and operated Reser Dry Goods store for over 36 years. She attended Missouri State Teacher's College upon graduation from high school. She was a member of the Buffalo Christian Church and later South Street Christian Church in Springfield. Mary was a 50 year member of Eastern Star, a lifetime member of the St. John's Hospital Auxiliary, and achieved the 500 Mile Mall Walker award. She loved Lady Bear basketball, Cardinals baseball, and attending her grandchildren's sport and musical events. Mary and Les enjoyed fishing together, attending Branson shows, and their home at Tablerock Lake. Mary is survived by her son, Mike Freeman and his wife Debbie, and grandchildren, Michelle and Matthew Freeman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Gladys Reser, her sister Dorothy Jean Radford, and husbands, Jim Freeman and Leslie Sprague. The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Villa for the loving care provided to her over the past 6 years. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014, at 10:30 am at the Mercy Villa Chapel, 1100 E. Montclair, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri.
