Mary Louise Sieger, 85 of Republic, MO, died February 14, 2018 at home surrounded by family after her battle with cancer. She was born December 21, 1932 in Springfield, MO the daughter of Mary Eva (Conn) and Charles Moon.
Mary married her high school sweetheart, Sonny Sieger on February 12, 1951 in Jasper, Arkansas. They just celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.
She was an avid Bridge Club player. She enjoyed knitting blankets for the animal shelters and for their beloved pet yorkies. Mary enjoyed tending to her orchids. Her favorite flower was the rose. She thoroughly enjoyed reading books and listening to Operas. Mary looked forward to meeting her lifelong friends for group lunch each month. Spending time at the beach with friends and family was one of Mary's favorite pastimes. She was a huge sports fan. The St. Louis Cardinals were her favorite baseball team, and she never missed watching a game. She also enjoyed watching Duke basketball, which was a passion she shared with her father. Mary was a very family-oriented person and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving daughter, Mary Susan Phillips. Mary is survived by husband Edward (Sonny) Sieger; sister Sue Ward of Phoenix, AZ; sons Charles (Jan) of Republic, MO and Ed (Penny) of Marshfield, MO; grandchildren Amber Milligan of Dallas, TX, Kristian Walters of Bentonville, AR, Courtney (Brad) McClintock of Olathe, KS, Tiffany (Austin) Sieger, Aaron (Felicia) Sieger all of Springfield, MO; great-grandchildren Joshua, Shannin, Jordan and Bailey Arin O'Byrne, Braxton, Reece and Hayden McClintock and Rowen Miller; as well as nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
