Mary "Catherine" Reaves, 89, of Springfield, MO, passed away on Thursday, June 05, 2014 with her family by her side. Catherine was born in Holden, MO to Charles and Mary Catherine Deely, who preceded her in death. Catherine and her high school sweetheart, Raymond, were married 66 years before his death in 2009. Catherine was also preceded in death by son, Michael, and infant daughter, Mary Kathleen. Catherine is survived by her five daughters and their spouses, Dona and David Borgardt, Diane and Steve Shanholtzer, Denita and Ron Dykes, Vicki and Mike Petiford, and Veronica and Paul Welsh; six granddaughters; eight grandsons; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Christopolus and Veronica Mehl . Catherine was a proud member of St. Agnes Cathedral and a member of Mercy Villa Auxiliary for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was truly a kind person with a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 6:30 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held Monday, June 9, 2014, at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes Cathedral, with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to St. Agnes Cathedral.
