Mary Ruth Moore, 79 of Springfield, MO passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012 in her home. She was born on July 6, 1932 in Westgreen, Georgia to Clifton and Eva Burkett Moore She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Buddy Atkinson; her daughter, Ginger Michelle Morrison; and a brother, James Moore. Survivors include her son Gary Morrison and his wife Brenda of Springfield, MO; daughter Belinda Baker of Springfield, MO; a brother, John Moore of Westgreen, GA; sisters, Florence Anderson, Janette Johns, and Sanilla Welborn all of Westgreen, GA.; five grandchildren, Holly Gray and her husband John, Amy Letterman and her husband Jared, Sonya Morrison, Brandon Morrison and his wife Jessica, and Christopher Morrison; and two great-grandchildren, Addison Letterman and Hadley Morrison. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 20, 2012 at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Keltner, Missouri under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. Ruth loved her family and the Lord. Her compassion for others led her to a career of teaching special needs children and later volunteering at the nursing home. Her whole family enjoyed her "southern cooking."
