IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Ruth
Mccory
December 1, 1924 – April 7, 2022
Mary Ruth (Danny) McCory, 97, left this world and went to her heavenly Father on April 7, 2022. She was born in Paris, TX on December 1, 1924 to Velma Polk and William Cody Daniel. After graduating from Paris High School, she started working for the Federal Government. Her job as a disbursement officer brought her to Honolulu, Hawaii and was later transferred to the Fort Worth Army Depot. There she met and married Colonel John McCory. John was from Springfield, Missouri where they, along with Danny's two sons, settled.
Danny was an accomplished seamstress, gourmet cook, flower gardener and an avid Rummikub player. She always loved to see shows in Branson with her best friend, Behryl Hartley.
Danny was preceded in death by her husband, John McCory and her son, David Newton.
She is survived by her son, Bart Newton (Rosa); Bart's two step-daughters, Cecilia Steinberg (Adam) and their children Will, Kate and Sam and Angela Teters and her daughter, Grace Geisler and Grace's father, David Geisler.
Memorial Service will be held at King's Way United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 12:00 PM. Danny will be laid to rest next to her husband, John, during a private ceremony. Online condolences can be left at gormanscharpf.com
