Mary Evelyn Hennessy, 88, Springfield, MO passed away February 18, 2016 in Bella Vista, AR. She was born in Haven, KS, the daughter of Howard and Mary Burns.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John J. Hennessy, Jr., three sisters and four brothers.

Evelyn is survived by daughters, Debbie Mitchell (Larry) of Kansas City, MO; and Jonna Hennessy of Bentonville, AR; grandson, Adam Mitchell (Gena) of Des Moines, Iowa; great-granddaughter, Olivia Mitchell of Des Moines, Iowa; brother, Tom Burns of Fort Scott, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends, as well as the family dog, Sunny, who she adored.

She was a longtime member of Brentwood Christian Church, a Crosslines volunteer for many years, and a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2016 at Hazelwood Cemetery with the Reverend Emily Bowen-Marler officiating, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Circle of Life Hospice, Bentonville, AR.
