Mary Ellen Stone Grandstaff Mary, 82, died December 3, 2010 after a short hospitalization at St. John's in Springfield. She was a native Springfieldian and enjoyed her last 33 years residing in the rolling country hills just outside the city. She taught elementary school and junior high school English and Journalism at Pipkin before retiring in 1984. She is survived by her spouse, Max; her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Lynn Clemensen; her two grandchildren, Megan (26) and Cory (21). She also has two brothers and their wives here in Springfield; Robert and June Stone and John and Ivonne Stone and five nephews and their families. After cremation there will be a memorial service in the new chapel at King's Way United Methodist Church, 2401 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield on Friday, December 10th at 3 PM.
