Mary Ann Dreiling, 79, of Springfield, passed on December 26. She was born April 24, 1935 in Otis, Kansas, the daughter of the late Sam and Sophia Appel. Mary Ann was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Stephen, Marilyn Owens, Marita Pemberton (Steven), Marcia Passeri and son-in-law, Mike Parrish. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, and the light of her life, Mariel Parrish and Casey Passeri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, and daughter, Margaret (Margo) Parrish. Mary Ann enjoyed her flowers and sunflowers, which are native to her Kansas home, as well as birds, animals and nature. But her biggest focus in life was on her children and grandchildren and taking care of others before herself. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 5-7 pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral home, 1947 E. Seminole. Graveside services will be at Hazelwood Cemetery on Tuesday, December 30, at 11 am. The family would like to thank the caregivers of the Neighborhoods of Quail Creek for their wonderful care.
