Mary Helen Rhodes Burger was born in Springfield, Mo., on July 2, 1920, to Zoe and Charles Rievely and passed away in Cox Hospital on October 10, 2009 after a brief illness. Mary was a volunteer for thirty years and was president of the Cox Auxiliary. She loved bridge, bingo, and golf. She was preceded in death by her parents: husband, Bob Burger; and infant son, William S. Rhodes III. She is survived by her son, Scott; daughter-in-law, Mary; step-daughter, Barbara Fersch; stepson, Mark Burger; grandchildren, Andrew and Emily Rhodes, Cindy Laherty, Stephanie Maloney, Ethan, Lauren, and Brandon Burger; great-grandchildren McKenna and Brogan Maloney. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12, 2009; at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church with a funeral mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Immaculate Conception Church.
