Mary Elizabeth Batson (Beth), age 69, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021, in Cox South Hospital, after a brief illness.

Beth was born on Jan. 18, 1952, in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of D. Dean and Olive L. Cunningham. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Springfield. Beth graduated from Parkview High School and Drury College, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.

For many years Beth worked at her father's medical practice and after his retirement, she was employed by the Cox Family Medical Care Clinic.

Beth is survived by her brother, Dr. Richard Cunningham and his wife Cindy; her sister, Susan Tummons and her husband Lyndon; her granddaughters, Abigail and Lorelai Batson-Rook; and several nieces and nephews, who always called her Aunt B.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Leesa.

Beth loved looking for bargains with her sister at auctions and estate sales, watching Springfield Cardinal games in the summer, and most of all, spending time with her beloved granddaughters.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
