Mary Belle (Curl) Alexander was born on a Good Friday April 19, 1946 to Leslie Bell and Lucille (Arnold) Curl on Cane Creek in Pleasantville, TN and departed this life on May 26, 2021 at South Cox Hospital in Springfield, MO. She was named after her great grandparents, John Bell and Mary (Shephard) Cude.

She graduated from Hickman County Senior High School Centerville, TN 1964. She received her diploma in nursing degree from St. Thomas Hospital Nashville, TN 1967, and in 1975 she received a BS degree in Healthcare Administration from St. Joseph's College in North Windham, ME. On September 1, 1984, Mary married Randy Upchurch, who preceded her in death on August 19, 1995. She then met and married Jack Alexander on November 27, 1997.

Mary was a practicing nurse for 30 years until her retirement in 1997.She and her husband Jack Alexander moved to Springfield, MO in 2002 where she continued to utilize her education and experience in nursing, befriending and caring for many friends and neighbors, and especially throughout her church family at Sunset Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Lucille, her two brothers, Edward (Eddie) Leslie, and Sammie Baker, her sister Alta Elizabeth, her niece Fran Peltier, and step-daughter Kimberlea Alexander Horn.

She is survived by her husband Jack Alexander, sister-in-law Bobbie Curl, two nieces, Leslie (Curl) LaRou, her husband Joe, and children Lindsey and Natalie, and Mary Elizabeth Curl and her children Ashley Moore, Ryan and Grace Moore, and Hailey and Mark Senderak and their children Isaac and Malayna.

Visitation will be held from Noon until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 2021 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 East Seminole, Springfield, Missouri, with a service beginning at 2:00 p.m.  Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in Oakmont Cemetery, Centerville, Tennessee.
