Marvin Jean Richardson, born December 20, 1929, went home to be with our Heavenly Father Jesus Christ on September 2, 2013. Marvin Jean was born in Springfield, Missouri. She resided in Los Angeles, California from 1967 and returned to Springfield, July of 1989. She attended Lincoln School where she formed many lifelong friendships and also met her husband, Howell B. Lewis, Jr. This union was blessed with the birth of seven children. Another union was shared with Richard Richardson and blessings of two more children. She worked for Zenith in Springfield and Hughes Aircraft in Los Angeles where she retired. Marvin Jean's first love was Jesus Christ, her second was her children. She will always be remembered for her laughter, jokes, enjoying her grandchildren, gardening, working for Cox Medical and Oxford Care. Marvin Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Agnes Barrett; sister, Gretta Fay Lewis; daughter, Earlene Lewis; son, Michael Lewis; grandson-in-law, Rodney "Rock" Johnson; grandsons, James Anthony Robinson and Diondre Ra'Sean Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Edward and Donna Copeland, Howell Bostic Lewis, III, Valerie Jones, Tona Lewis, Glynn "Roni" Lewis, Richard Richardson, Jr. and Marcus Richardson; nephews, Curtis Lee Barrett, Nathaniel Lewis; niece, Jewell Lynn Lewis; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends, including Walt and Jenni Simpson, Youlanda Herron, Ina Graham, and Hershel Lee Bailey, Sr. Visitation will be held Friday, September 6, 2013 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00AM in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family would like to say a special thank you to Hospice Compassus and to her very special nurse, granddaughter, Donnetta Bailey.
