Marvin Arden McIntyre, age 86, was born May 4, 1931 in Jasper County, Missouri to Jerrold and Eunice (Parsons) McIntyre. He died at his home in Springfield, Missouri on December 25, 2017.

Marvin graduated from Golden City High School in 1949. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, earning an honorable discharge in 1953. In 1955, he married Joan Buzzard in Kansas City, Missouri. They owned and operated Northtown Alignment, an automotive service center, in North Kansas City, for thirty years before retiring in 1992. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time with his grandchildren, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and Missouri State Lady Bears.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Geraldine Davis. He is survived by his wife Joan, his sons Michael (Rowan) of Chicago, Illinois, and Stephen (Beth) of Springfield, his grandchildren Kate, Annie, Liam, and Emma, as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Marvin's family would like to thank Dr. Zubair and the nurses and staff of Preferred Hospice, especially Melissa and Carolee, for all their help and compassion during his illness.

Visitation will be at noon on Saturday, December 30, with service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Interment will occur at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society or Ozarks Food Harvest.
