IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marvin Kenneth
Karr
July 22, 1930 – July 12, 2018
Marvin Kenneth "Ken" Karr passed from this life into Eternity where he re-joined his loving wife of almost sixty-three years, Erma Lee, on July 12, 2018. Erma preceded Ken in death by just 125 days. Upon Erma's death, Ken's heart was broken, and he did not want to go on living without her. At the time of his death, Ken was surrounded by his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Ken was born July 22, 1930 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Adolph Benton and Effie Pearl Barrett Karr. He grew up in Oklahoma, Michigan and California. The family eventually settled in the Phoenix, Arizona area. Ken proudly served his country during the Korean War as an aircraft mechanic working on the B-36 "Peacemaker" strategic bombers.
After his military service, Ken was a warehouseman for over 30 years at Lightning Moving and Warehouse in Phoenix. It was there he met the love of his life, Erma Lee Clark. The two were united in marriage June 24, 1955. To this union one daughter, Kristina Lynn, "Kristy" was born.
In 1978 Ken and Erma relocated to Ava, Missouri, where they bought a small farm and raised feeder pigs and beef cattle until they retired. Upon retirement, they sold the farm and purchased a condominium on Lake Taneycomo. Until failing health slowed them both down, Ken and Erma enjoyed fishing, cruise ship cruising and traveling in general. Together, they lived life to the fullest and saw much of the world.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Erma, two sisters, Bernice Karr and Marie Clees, a brother, Dick Karr and a grandson, Robert Hardy.
Ken is survived by his daughter, Kristy Schultz (Douglas), granddaughters Sara Hardy (Ian) and Rachel Trumbull (Howard), grandson Dave Hardy, great-granddaughters Emily Hardy and Luna Hardy and great-grandsons Tristan Hardy, Harrison Trumbull and Lennon Trumbull.
No formal services are planned. Per the couples wish their ashes will be spread over the Bradshaw Mountains in Arizona on a later date.
