Bob Wade passed away in Springfield, MO, on April 12, 2017. His life was one of service to his country, dedication to his career, and devotion to his family.

Bob was born in Wood River, NE, on July 31, 1933.

He married Joan Ruth Bowe June 21, 1952 in Escondido, CA. They enjoyed 64 years together and had three children.

Bob enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1949. He transferred to the Army after 14 years; retired from the Army as Chief Warrant Officer Three after seven additional years of service.

After retiring from military service, he opened and operated Wade's Marine Repair Service in the Springfield area for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Merna Wade, his sister Roberta Griffin, and daughters Barbara Anne Wade and Peggy Kurz.

Bob is survived by his wife, Joan Wade; son Chuck Wade, and his wife, Sheri, of Fayetteville, AR; sister Maycle Jefferson Shepherd, of Garden City, KS; grandchildren Grant, Christina, Heather, Melissa, Katrina, Steven, Michael, and David; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many special family members and friends.

Memorial services will be Friday, April 21, 2017 at 12:30 PM in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  Burial with full military honors will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
