Martha Kay Griffith, 79, passed away on August 9, 2026 in Springfield, MO. Martha was born March 22, 1947 to Arleen (Hill) and Thomas Morris in Ypsilanti, MI. She graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1965.
She married the love of her life and high school sweetheart Randall Griffith on September 2, 1967 in Ypsilanti, MI. She and Randy lived in various places, including Alaska and Germany, and traveled extensively. She enjoyed being an Army officer's wife, hosting events, and working as a florist. She loved seeing new places and meeting new people. She kept friendships throughout her life, regardless of the distance apart. Martha was an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church of Springfield, and cared deeply for her church family. Her faith was an important part of her life and she prayed daily for her family and friends. She was gifted in gardening, floral arranging, and baking. She used her talents to serve others. She enjoyed making special Christmas cookies for friends and family each year and loved baking with her grandchildren. She especially loved being a grandma and giving her grandchildren fun experiences, including fancy tea parties and exploring nature. She was a gifted hostess who enjoyed visits with family and friends. Her last year of life included the weddings of two grandchildren and the birth of a great-grandson.
Martha is survived by her husband, Randy; her son, Matthew and daughter-in-law Stacy; her son Clint and daughter-in-law Mary; and grandchildren Thomas (Megan) Griffith, Lillian (Wyatt) Boehm, Clara, Gloria, Kayla and great-grandchildren Grayson and Owen.
Martha's Celebration of Life Service will be held on August 29, 2026 at 1:00 PM in Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2441 S. Lone Pine Ave, Springfield, MO.
