Martha Anne Corgan, daughter of Charles M. Kimber and Martha Sabina Scolfield was born March 11, 1930 in Springfield, Missouri and peacefully departed this life on April 3, 2009. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Pipkin Jr. High School, and Springfield Senior High School. Martha Anne lived in Springfield all of her life. She graduated from Southwest Missouri State and taught in Springfield Public Schools for forty years. Martha received a Master's Degree in Library Science and was the President of The Missouri Association of School Librarians. She was preceded in death by her husband John (Jack) Corgan and siblings, Mary Krebbs, Charles Kimber, Ellen Picken, James Kimber, John Joe Kimber, and Thomas Kimber. She is survived by her brother, George Kimber, and wife Genevieve , of Dallas, TX; sister-in-law, Virginia Kimber, Humansville, MO; cousin, Mickey Meinhardt, Independence, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as dear friends who loved her very much. Martha Anne lived life to the fullest, and through friendships and teaching she touched many lives. Her humor, generosity, and zest for life brought joy and inspiration to everyone who knew her. In recent years Martha enjoyed travel to Italy, France, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and many places in the US. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, April 6, 2009 in Sacred Heart Church with Father Thomas McGann officiating, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM Sunday, April 5, 2009 with visitation to follow until 8 PM in the funeral home.
