Filbeck
July 9, 1944 – April 10, 2025
Marsha Filbeck, a lifelong resident of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, April 10th at 4:47 pm. Marsha dedicated over 20 years of service to Kraft Foods before enjoying a well-earned retirement.
Marsha raised two children and was a proud bonus mom to one more. Her love extended across generations as a cherished grandmother of three and great-grandmother of five. Known for her quick wit and infectious laughter, Marsha had a gift for keeping her family on their toes with her playful sense of humor and heartfelt wisdom.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Marshall and Aline Vanderford, and her sister-in-law, Darlene Vanderford.
Marsha is survived by her son, Greg Smoot and his wife Rhonda of Bradleyville, MO. She is also survived by her grandchildren Chris Smoot and his wife Kelsey, and their children Bailey, Camden, and Haddie Smoot; and Molly Smoot Hill and her husband Cory Hill, along with their children Piper and Porter Hill. She is also survived by her daughter Angela Boyd and her husband Mark of Tulsa, OK, and their daughter Charlie Boyd. Marsha's love and influence also extended to her bonus daughter Lori Blackwell Parks and her husband Gregg of Battlefield, MO. She is also survived by her brother Jim Vanderford of Springfield, MO.
Pallbearers will be Chris Smoot, Cory Hill, Mark Boyd, Gregg Parks, John Beckwith, and Steve Carroll.
Marsha's memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and love she shared with everyone who had the joy of knowing her.
Graveside services will be Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 1:00 pm in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with visitation preceding from 10-12 pm on Saturday at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home.
