Marquis D. Howell, Il was born on January 16, 1968 and passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the age of 54. Marquis was born in Ft. Rucker, Alabama while his dad was stationed there in the Army.

He grew up in Florida and moved to Springfield, MO after he graduated high school. After high school he attended the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science and then in 1987 went to work with his uncle Bruce at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home. His passion was embalming which he pursued for 28 years until he retired in 2015.

Marquis loved traveling and having fun, he was happiest when he was outdoors. Whether that be fishing, kayaking, or just riding bikes with his daughter Jurni. He also had a very strong love for seafood, riding his motorcycle and supporting the Dallas Cowboys (including the cheerleaders).

Marquis will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Marquis D. Howell, Sr and Judith Howell, his grandparents, Bud and Genilie Howell, and stepdaughter, Whitney Leigh Hampton.

Marq is survived by his loving daughter, Jurni Anna Howell; his sister, Juliana Howell White and finace, David Kantner; two nephews, Andrew and Matt Sweeney; his aunt, Debby Middlemas; his uncle, Bruce Howell and wife Shelly; several cousins including, Heather, Angie and Allison Howell, Melissa Middlemas and her daughters, Payton and Kennedy, Steve Liebeck, Ann Liebeck, and many friends that he loved.

A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 4-6 PM at the Oasis Hotel in the Sahara Room.  Private family burial was at Hazelwood Cemetery.
