Marqua Elizabeth Weathers, age 91 of Springfield passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015. She graduated from Central High School and later graduated from Southwest Missouri State Teacher's College in 1944. Marqua was an X-Ray Technician in St. Louis and received her Master's degree at the University of Illinois in Library Science. She worked many years at Washington University as a medical librarian. Marqua was a lifetime member at First Baptist Church in Springfield. She served on the Board at the Humane Society and Habitat for Humanity. She is preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Nana (Wasson) Weathers and brother Glenn Weathers, Jr. Marqua is survived by special friends Gwen Jefferies, Anita Pennington and Marilyn Tuck and her church family at First Baptist Church. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 11:00 am in Hazelwood Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Overton officiating under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
