Mark William Smith was born 15 October 1956 and joyfully adopted by Warren and Ruby Smith.  He graduated from Parkview High School in Springfield, MO and attended Missouri State University (then SMSU) studying Physics, which was one of his lifelong passions.

In the persona of Madagascar Scroggs around the campfire with friends he told stories of his origins in the constellation Aldebaran.  Mark departed for destinations unknown on 24 June 2021, due to complications from covid-19.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Sharon Thompson, and survived by stepson John Thompson and a wide circle of friends.

There will be cremation and arrangements are underway for a memorial later this summer (update will be posted here).
