Joyce Lasnier Spencer, 86, of Springfield, MO passed away 6 AM August 25, 2012 in Cox South. She was born March 9, 1926 in Clay Center, Kansas to Edmond and Heloise Lasnier. The family moved to Concordia, Kansas at an early age. Joyce was united in marriage to James Spencer on Feb. 10, 1945. After raising their family in Kansas and Nebraska, and Missouri, the family moved to Springfield in 1978. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and two infant sons. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James Spencer and seven daughters: Jamie Sims, Kristen Junker [Larry], Kathy McClimon [Richard], Lynn Treadway [Dan], Janet Holbrook [Joseph], Jill MacLaughlin [John], and Julie Spencer. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with The Reverend Lewis E. Hejna, celebrant. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a special prayer service at 7:00 PM Monday, August 27, 2012, in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.
