Obituary

Marjorie Reames died last week at a St. Louis hospital of heart failure.  She was 98.  She had been living in St. Louis at Friendship Village since 2012. Previously she had lived in Springfield, MO since 1959.  She was born on a farm in West Plains, MO then married John P. Reames during World War II.  John and Marjorie moved to Springfield, MO when John retired from the Army in 1959. A life long Baptist, she was a member of the South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield for 35 years. She was a talented practitioner of the home arts:  cooking, sewing, decorating, and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband John and youngest daughter Nancy. She is survived by her eldest daughter Mary Ann Moore (Patrick), granddaughter Valerie Moore (Benjamin Recchie), and grandson Andrew Moore.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Springfield National Cemetery. The family requests donations to the American Heart Association or South Haven Baptist Church instead of flowers.
