Marge was a lover of flowers, music, and art. She loved to paint and was an accomplished artist in her later years. She devoured books and collected friends which she cherished for her lifetime. She enjoyed travel, especially her trips with her son and daughter-in-law in their RV to Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Tetons, the Grand Canyon and to visit her sister and nieces in Washington and Oregon. She also traveled to Europe twice with her sister Louann to visit her daughter and family who were living in Germany and later in England. She took photos of her trips which she later painted.

Marge worked for Springfield Ice and Refrigeration and Springfield General Hospital. She was a longtime member of Central Christian Church and volunteered in the church partnership with Boyd school providing after school snacks and homework help to Boyd students. She also participated in their Congregational Care Ministries calling on church members who were ill or in need of visitation.

Marge was born in St Joseph, Missouri to Fred and Myra Veregge. She joined her sister in Chicago where she worked for the Red Cross. She soon met and married her first husband William Buron who was a decorated veteran of WWII and working for the DAV. They later lived in Hartford CT, Woodstock VT, North Adams MA, and Buffalo NY before Marge returned to Springfield with her children after the death of her first husband.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of 14 years William Buron who died of Leukemia, and her second husband Preston Ray to whom she was married for 36 years. She was also preceded in death by a brother Fred Veregge and sister-in-law Ramona and granddaughter Ashley Dillard.

She leaves behind a son William Buron (Carolyn Buron) of Springfield, MO, a daughter Michelle Homer (Steven Homer) of Boston, MA, and stepdaughters Sandy Dillard (Steve Dillard) of Granbury, TX and Gail Bogle (Ron Bogle) of Brighton, MO. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter, her sister Louann Lindquist of Olympia, WA and beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her children will miss her courage in the face of adversity, her good humor and quiet grace.
