IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marjorie (Marge)
Pauline Ambler
October 22, 1926 – April 13, 2018
Marjorie (Marge) Ambler
Marjorie Ambler passed away peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2018. She was born Marjorie Pauline Bell on October 22, 1926 in rural southwest Kansas to Adah and Roy Bell. She was the sixth of eight children. Marjorie completed elementary education in a one-room eight-grade rural school and graduated valedictorian from Fall River, Kansas High School in 1944. Since the country was involved in WWII, she became a secretary at Boeing's Wichita plant. In 1945, she married Hearld Ambler in Detroit, Michigan. To this union were born three children.
Marjorie was a born homemaker. Her goal in life was to provide love and assistance to her husband and children. After her children left home, she became involved in golf, bridge, bowling and volunteering. She regularly volunteered at the Springfield Art Museum, and for Cerebral Palsy, Meals on Wheels, and other Springfield charities.
She is survived by her beloved husband of seventy-two years, Hearld; her twin sisters, Velma Siever (and spouse, Marv) of Bakersville, California and Thelma VanSchoiack of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her children, Allen of Quincy, Illinois, Jackie Smith and spouse, Bill of Overland Park, Kansas, and Eric and spouse, Evie of Bonita Springs, Florida; six grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Marge was a charming, beautiful and loving person who added joy to all she knew. She will be terribly missed.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield.
