Marjorie Theresa Nelson, 98, Springfield, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in Springfield Rehabilitation.  She was born November 12, 1917 in Richmond, Kansas.  Marge worked for over 30 years in the Rectory at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph A. Nelson; her son, Ronald J. Nelson; three brothers; one sister; and grandson, Eugene Nelson, Jr.

Marge is survived by three sons and their wives, Eugene C. (Diane) Nelson, James E. (Brenda) Nelson, and Michael L. (Jule) Nelson; daughter-in-law, Janet Nelson; two sisters, Helen Parr and Leona (Mel) Marchbanks; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2016 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Tom Kiefer Celebrant, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.  A rosary will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home, with visitation to follow until 7:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Women's Council.
