Marjorie Ellen Rayl "Marge" Peterson, age 80, died peacefully in her sleep on March 3, 2014. She was born in Sedalia, MO April 25, 1933, the daughter of Columbus Scott Rayl and Letha Ellen Bishop Rayl. She had four older brothers, John, Ray, Jim and Bob, all deceased. Marge attended school in Sedalia, Columbia and Springfield, MO. She met the love of her life O. Richard Peterson at a going away party and married him while in her senior year of High School. Richard preceded her passing in 1989. Marge was active in Little Theatre and appeared in many local plays and in dinner theater and was a creative writer. She is survived by her son, Eric Peterson and his wife Kate; daughter, Juli Peterson; and grandchildren, Brandon Peterson and Carly LaDoux. Also surviving are ten nieces and nephews and their families and many cousins. Visitation will be Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 3-4pm in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, March 10, 2014 at 10am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Marge would have liked to be remembered by a donation to The Humane Society.
