IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marilyn J
Quinn
September 1, 1941 – April 24, 2022
Marilyn Jean Quinn (nee Foster)
September 01, 1941 – April 24, 2022
Marilyn is survived by Kenneth, the love of her life to whom she was married for 60 years; her sons: Jeffrey, Stephen (Kay), Bradley (Beverly) all from Springfield, Patrick (Aura) from St. Louis; her beloved grandchildren: Michael, Erin, Andrew (Emily), Brittany, Blake, Dawson, and Peter Quinn; her siblings from Monroe City: (Terry) Shively, Brenda (Mike) Pollitt, Merry Ann Marler from Lawson, and Danny Foster; and countless nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda Shively.
Born in Hannibal, MO to Jean Griffin and James D. Foster, Marilyn grew up in Monroe City for most of her childhood, and graduated from St. Stephens High School (Indian Creek) in 1959. Marilyn and Ken were married in 1961 and began their beautiful life together in the St. Louis area until they were transferred to Springfield (1973), Kansas City (1995), and relocated back to Springfield (2008). She devoted her life to caring for her family, was a loving mother to her four sons, three daughters-in-law whom she loved as her own, and seven grandchildren whom she adored. She was their biggest cheerleader, and followed her boys and grandchildren to their numerous activities and in all of their accomplishments. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family and the joy of cooking for them.
Marilyn delighted in her shenanigans with her dear sisters-in-law, Dee, Judy, Deana, Mary, Debby and Dory, the infamous self-deemed "Outlaws". She thoroughly enjoyed going on cruises and traveling the world with her husband, where they visited destinations in the US, the Hawaiian Islands, the Caribbean and Virgin Islands, and even made multiple trips abroad to Ireland, England, Egypt, Greece, Italy, the Vatican, and so many more! She loved flea markets, quilting, margaritas, carnations and coconut pie! She was a woman of strong faith and was very active in the Catholic community, especially Springfield Catholic Schools. She loved fiercely, was loved fiercely in return, and will be greatly missed.
Memorial contributions may be made to Springfield Catholic Schools.
