IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marilyn Sue
Huffman
December 12, 1935 – August 25, 2024
Marilyn Sue Huffman, 88, of Springfield, Missouri passed away peacefully on August 25, 2024. Marilyn was born December 12, 1935 to Marion Jesse Huffman and Lylian Lee Huffman. She graduated from Hartville High School and Missouri State University, going on to a long and distinguished career as a legal secretary. She loved her work, which included roles at Neale Newman, the Greene County Circuit Clerk, and the Missouri Court of Appeals. Marilyn also ran the license bureau in Republic, Missouri for several years.
She was a very active member of Greene County Area Legal Support Professionals, Missouri Association of Legal Secretaries, and the National Association of Legal Secretaries. She remained active in these organizations even after retirement, making many good friends along the way. Marilyn was a passionate Republican and attended countless rallies, meetings and conventions. Her collection of political memorabilia was something to see.
Marilyn was the life of the party – and relished that role. She loved spending time with friends and family, whether watching sports (she was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs), talking politics, or going to the hottest new restaurant, She enjoyed travel, and often spoke of her trips to Hawaii, London, Washington, D.C., Churchill Downs, and California.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Philip Sheridan Huffman. She is survived by sister-in-law Sherry Huffman, niece Hilary Sommer and husband Lyndon, nephew Grierson Huffman and wife Bettrys, along with a host of relatives, friends and colleagues.
