IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marilyn
Holtkamp
February 11, 1938 – June 23, 2020
Marilyn past away peacefully on 06/23/2020. A recurring theme in her story is one of love: love for her parents, her husband, her siblings, her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. There is love in every chapter. A particularly hard chapter is the loss of her daughter Sandy and son Dean but she powered through with love. Love for Randy and Jose; Jennifer, James, Avery, Asher and Ryan, Alicia, Brayden, Austyn. She shared her love throughout her life by keeping in touch with family and friends through telephone calls, cards and letters, rarely missing a birthday or anniversary. Marilyn excitedly embraced technology in recent years with an iphone, a computer and social media. She found new joy in the instant window to a wider world in texting, emailing and Facebook. It was difficult with her diminishing eyesight but that would not stop her. She was also an avid audiobook listener. So, just as she knew all good stories had love and happy endings, she also knew that all happy endings must end. She liked to review books on Facebook and always enjoyed suggestions of new books to try. We rate her life story a "10+". Her last 20 years on dialysis were marked with moments of great joy and great sorrow. Still, she strove to be a source of love, joy, and warmth for all those she touched. Today, however, we choose to focus on the love, because that is all we feel when we think of Marilyn. We will miss her dearly.
