IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marilyn Rose
Crumpley
August 28, 1928 – September 6, 2016
Marilyn Rose Crumpley was born on August 28, 1928 and died peacefully September 6, 2016, surrounded by her family. She grew up in Springfield, MO, received her Nursing degree from St. John's School of Nursing, and worked with the Red Cross Bloodmobile and as a private Nurse for Dr. John Ferguson.
She was perfectly content delivering babies with Dr. Ferguson until she met the love of her life, Kenneth Crumpley. They married August 29, 1952 and she became a full time mother and wife. One would be hard-put to find a better Domestic Engineer than Marilyn. Despite the fact that she said she'd like a house without a kitchen, she was a good cook and no one at her home went hungry. She was an extremely devoted mother and spent most summers driving kids to the swimming pool, golf course or baseball games. Later in life she spent many hours volunteering for Meals on Wheels and Crosslines and greatly enjoyed traveling with Kenneth to Europe and various parts of the US, particularly Hawaii. They also enjoyed socializing with their many friends.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, James and Orene Turner, in-laws Arthur and Verna Crumpley. brothers-in-law Hugh and Dale Crumpley, sister-in-law Mary Crumpley, and husband Kenneth. She is survived by her children, Jim (Gloria) Crumpley and Linda (Bob) Lynch, grandchildren Jeffrey Lynch (wife Rachel), Jennifer Crumpley, Matthew Crumpley (wife Lindsay), brother and wife Jim and Judie Turner of Doylestown, PA, great grandchildren Addison and Avery Crumpley and Hannah Lynch, sister-in-law Merrie Jo Poortvliet of Memphis, TN, and several nieces.
The family would like to thank Bradford Court and Lakewood Assisted Living for their wonderful care for the past eight years. We will miss her greatly but we rejoice knowing she is having quite a family reunion. A private family burial will be held this coming weekend. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Help Give Hope, 2733 E. Battlefield, Ste. 332, Springfield, MO 65804 or a charity of the donor's choice.
