Marie Elizabeth Rauenbuehler Macaluso passed away in her sleep on March 8th, 2009. She was born on Aug.11th,1943 in Burbank, CA to Rudolf and Marie Rauenbuehler. As an Army wife, she lived in many places and has been a resident of Springfield for the past 14 years. Marie was an R.N., den leader, foster parent, Master Gardener, and raised show dogs, cats and rabbits. She enjoyed genealogy, quilting, knitting, reading, and bowling. Her family affectionately referred to her as "The Queen." Marie was most proud of adopting her two kids. She is known to have been the first single mother in CA to have adopted a child. She leaves behind her husband of 34 years, Sal, her daughter Melissa and son-in-law Ed Randall of Springfield, her son Michael Flake and daughter-in-law Susan of Pleasant Hill, CA and her beloved grandsons Jonathan, Stephen and David Randall. Services will be Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 3p.m. with visitation on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 from 5-7p.m. at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
