Obituary

Marian (Koch) Voss was born in Highland, Ill. to Lillian (Riley) Koch and Elmer Koch and peacefully joined her "Mother Angel" in Heaven on September 25th, 2011. Marian was dedicated to seeing anyone around her obtain a great education, as she also was an honor student at Monticello College in Godfrey, Ill. She took this ability to learn quickly and became the first female systems analyst for NCR Corporation. In order for her children to attend Drury College, she retired from her position at NCR and served as head of the computer installation and data processing at the university. She was a devoted mother to her children, and proud of every accomplishment they achieved, including following them across the country in the various career paths. So concerned that they possessed a complete education, she once said, "all of my children graduated from college and have exceeded my expectations". Marian was a volunteer for several years at St John's Hospital and belonged to SMMA and Cameo Art Group. During the past 30 years she made many friends among the lady golfers at Hickory Hills Country Club, and served as president of the ladies group as well. Among reading 3 novels at a time, cooking, and being a good counselor to her children, devoted wife, golf was the next thing on her "to do list" each week. Her husband, of 67 years, Robert Wayne Voss preceded her in death a year and a half ago. Also preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Robert L Koch of Dallas, Texas. Survivors include all five children: Pam Trammell, and husband Jim of Clemmons, NC; Patricia Voss Barber of Shawnee, KS; Nancy Voss of Springfield, MO; Randy Voss of Springfield, Mo; and Rob Voss and wife Angie, of Ridgedale, Mo. These five children provided her with the following grandchildren: Shannon Trammell Mattern of High Point, NC; Amy Boydston and husband Eric of Lenexa, KS; Scott Barber and wife, Marcia of Lenexa, KS; Joe M Voss and wife, Cheryl of St Louis, MO; Sondra Puorro and husband, Tom of McKinney, TX; Nici Flinn and husband, Jared of Nixa, Mo; and Hannah Frances Voss of Springfield, Mo. These grandchildren also produced 10 great-grandchildren. Marian's survivors would not be complete without mentioning her Yorkshire Terrier companion, Lucy. A memorial service and celebration of Marian's life will take place at 11:00am, Wednesday, September 28th at The Chapel at Integrity Hills, Ridgedale, MO. A festive brunch will immediately follow in the Stables reception center on the property. All friends of the family are welcomed to attend this amazing woman's life celebration. For directions, you can go to website www.integrityhills.com or call Rob Voss at 417-844-6940. The family would appreciate your RSVP to this phone number so preparations can be made. Marian requested that her ashes be distributed at a later date on this property, where she spent several wonderful weekends on Table Rock Lake as she built "her dream home" just a few years ago. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Humane Society of Southwest, MO; or, Ozarks Food Harvest, as Marian believed "that no one should go hungry, especially children". Amen
