IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margy May
Mckay
July 1, 1937 – March 17, 2017
Margy May McKay, 79, of Springfield, MO, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 17, 2017. Born to "Jack" and Florence Landes, Margy was the baby of five children and is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, "Bud" Landes, Billy Landes, Mary Lou Monger, and Ruth Ann Hanks. She has three children, Jennifer, Jacquelyn, and Billy. She grew up in Ozark, MO, where at a young age she became actively involved in the Christian church, including playing the piano for worship and youth activities. She was instrumental in several family members joining the church. This is where her heart for the Lord and sharing God's love with others began. She was married to Reverend David McKay in 1972 until his death in 2004. They served as a team in ministry. She was blessed with the gift of joy for life and others. She was the ultimate encourager with a big smile and a helping hand. She was a true blessing to her family and friends, whether it was homemade cinnamon rolls or fresh pie, or a simple phone call to let you know she cared and would be praying for you. That was her way. She was a great example of a servant's heart. Margy enjoyed many things in her life: piano, cooking, baking, sewing, golfing, fishing, games, bird watching, volunteer work, and leading Bible studies and workshops. She was a wonderful, loving mother and the best grandma you could ask for.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Stracke, and husband, Ron; Jacquelyn Wieseler and husband, Dan; and son, Bill Goddard, and wife, Meribeth; grandchildren, Levi Stracke, Stephanie Praschan and husband, Eric; Katie Henderson and husband, Brian, along with their two children, Gage and Charlie Anne; Chrystal Nuckolls and husband, Roddy, along with their four sons, Tristan, Landon, Cameron, and Braden; Alyson Rhoads and husband, Andy; John Wieseler and daughter, Amelia; and Brittany Wieseler; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Judy Clark, as well as many nieces and nephews.
You may visit with the family at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 25th. Celebration service to follow at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or your local MS Society Chapter in Margy's name in honor of her granddaughter, Stephanie, who was diagnosed with MS in 2009. http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR/Events/MOSChapter?pxfid=521008&fr_id=7434&pg=fund
