Obituary

Marguerite Wetzel Lee, 95, Springfield, passed away peacefully February 10, 2023.  She was born November 13, 1927, in St Louis, MO to Charles Erwin Wetzel and Margaret Grimm Wetzel.  She was the oldest of 6 children.  Marguerite graduated from Drury College in 1950, where she met her future husband, Robert "Bob" Lee. They were united in marriage July 21, 1951.  To this union, they had four children, Robert E. "Eddie", Gail Ellen, Margaret "Peggy" Eloise and Lesley Erlyn.

Marguerite was a Sustaining member of the Junior League of Springfield, ZETA Alumni Association, Lester E Cox Auxiliary, Springfield Art Musuem Auxiliary, First and Calvary Presbyterian Church and the Maui Quilters Guild.
Marguerite is proceeded in death by her husband Robert E "Bob", daughter Peggy, her parents, and her brothers, Charles Wetzel, Jack Wetzel and DeLore Wetzel.
She is survived by her son Eddie and wife Jodi, daughters, Gail Welsh and husband Rick and Lesley Lee; grandchildren Rob Lee and wife Danielle, Piper Lee, Josef Welsh and wife Stephanie, Patrick Carter and Jeremy Carter and wife Julie; great grandchildren Robison Lee, Jace Lee, Willa Welsh and Remington Carter; brother Neal Wetzel and wife Adrienne, Kenneth Wetzel and wife Mary.
Visitation will be held Wednesday February 15, 2023, from 5 pm to 7 pm in the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  Private family service will be held in Hazelwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southwest Humane Society, Rescue One or Drury College.
