Obituary

Marjorie Ann (Witt) Conyers, 78 was born on May 26 th , 1943 in Monett, Missouri. The fifth of seven children of Raymond and Marie Witt. She slipped peacefully away into the arms of Jesus on June 1 st , 2021 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was married in 1966 to Thomas J. Conyers for 49 years, and had two children a daughter Whitney and a son TJ.

As a child she grew up on a farm in Pierce City, MO, attended St. Mary's Catholic School, graduated in 1961 from McAuley High School, and then onto Cosmetology school. She worked as an accomplished hairstylist for 25 years. She then began her Mary Kay career where she became a Director of a successful unit and earned her pink car. Later she bought The Firm in Monett until they moved to Springfield for Tom's job. She enrolled in college at OTC then later moved on to MSU to continue her education. She was hired as an employment recruiter and with her people skills it allowed her to start her own business as a corporate recruiter till she retired after Tom's death in 2005.

She was a member of PEO Chapter CN of Monett and Chapter MR of Springfield. An active member of EWC in Spfd, member of BSF in Joplin and Spfd, and active member of Give 5; volunteer with Cox Health and Catholic Charities. She also was a member of Central Assembly of God Church.

Preceded in death by: her husband Thomas J Conyers; parents Raymond B and Marie Witt; brothers Lewis Lavern Witt wife Catherine, J.D. Witt, Robert E Witt; sister Marlyn Witt.

Survived by: daughter Whitney Presnall husband John; son TJ Conyers wife Shawna; granddaughters Corrin Presnall, Chloe Presnall, Claire Conyers, Hosanna Vaughan husband Josef, Lauren McTeer husband Brandon, and Bella Abbott; grandsons Victor Abbott, Samuel Abbott, and William Abbott; great grandsons Pfeiffer Gelvin, Raphael Vaughan, and Ki Vaughan; sisters Mary Lou Washeck husband Lawrence and Bernice Cochran husband Richard; sisters-in-law Dorothy Witt, Chris Tornquist husband Ken and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 4-6:00 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.  Graveside services will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Isabel's House, 2750 West Bennett, Springfield, MO 65802.
