On Saturday morning, July 25, 2015, a glorious reunion was held in Heaven, as Margaret Marie Ummel Tilton was welcomed by a host of friends and family, but particularly by her husband and partner for life, Allen, from whom they had been separated by death some 13 years ago, after 61 years of marriage. Smiles and joy were abundantly shared as she was welcomed into her next life, as promised. Marie, as she was known by all, was born in Jasper County, Missouri, on June 15, 1920, and lived for 95 years, being a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, to three children - Don of Little Rock, Arkansas, Dale of the Dominican Republic, and Judy Marie Brunner (Mike) of Springfield, Missouri, seven grandchildren - Lacy Marie Tilton Baker (Randy) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Don Tilton, Jr. (Lisa) Jonesboro, Arkansas, Lori Tilton Welch (Jim) of Atlanta, Georgia, Stephanie Tilton Reid (Joseph), of Springfield, Missouri, Adam Tilton (Jill) of Leawood, Kansas, Michael Brunner of Springfield, Missouri, Matthew Brunner (Tiffany) of Springfield, Missouri, and great grandchildren Audrey, Collins, Kennedy, Trace, Lexee, Jack, Evan, Ben, Alex, Brady, and Murphy Marie. Each has special memories of her and will miss the comfort she always provided throughout their lives. Under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, a family graveside service was held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Hazelwood Cemetery with Pastor Jim Mason officiating. The family is eternally grateful for the many kindnesses and courtesies from the staff at Sutton Home Health Care, Seasons Hospice, and The Gardens. The family also extends love and gratitude to Helen Rader, Brooke Sutton, Michelle Cropp, Michelle Solinger, Bailey Martin, and Erin Bond. These individuals cared for Marie as if she were their own during the last days of her life. Memorial contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice and the Shriners Hospital for Children.
