Margaret Ann Pratt, 82, Springfield, Missouri, formerly of Webster City, Iowa, passed away September 8, 2020 at home. She was born on August 1, 1938 in Webster City, Iowa, to George Edmund Alexander Sr. and Beatrice Kane Alexander. A brother, George E. Alexander Jr., and a sister, Mary Carolyn Hemingway, preceded her in death. She grew up and graduated from high school in Webster City, Iowa, and then graduated from the University of Iowa in 1960.

She taught English in various schools in Iowa and married Dr. Jose Minaya of Lima, Peru, in 1963. They had a daughter, Ana Maria, now of Richland, Missouri, and the couple were divorced in 1966.

In 1968, Margaret married William L. Pratt in Webster City, Iowa, and they were the parents of five children: William James of Vermillion, South Dakota; Joseph Lyman of Beijing, China; Katherine Ann of Willard, Missouri; Susan Beatrice of Springfield, Missouri; and Emily Margaret of Springfield, Missouri. The couple also have three grandchildren: Kara Ann and Kasey Marie Brower, and Ella Lane Pruis, all of Springfield, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Pratt, a long-time educator, passed away in 1996 shortly after the couple had moved to Springfield, and Margaret was employed at St. John's and Cox Hospitals as a medical transcriptionist until her retirement in 2003.

In July of 2003, Margaret married a childhood friend, Claude Crumpton, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The couple were divorced in 2008.

Since then, Margaret has lived full-time in Springfield, Missouri, enjoying the company of her children and grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Clear Creek Cemetery on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 1:30pm.
