Peggy (Lavin) Neth, age 80, formerly of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at McKnight Place, St. Louis, Mo., where she had been a resident for the past six years. Peggy was a teacher at Springfield's Roundtree Elementary for 24 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale Neth, and her parents Thomas and Margaret Lavin. Surviving family includes son, Tom Neth and wife, Joyce, of Rockford, Ill.; daughter Lee Ann Ring and husband, Craig, of St. Louis, Mo., and their children, Zach and Kelsey; and daughter Kathy Curry and husband, Mike, of Rogersville, Mo., and her children, Nathan, Natalie and Neena. Other surviving family include brother Tom Lavin of Overland Park, Kan.; brother Michael Lavin and wife Carol Sue, of Olathe, Kan. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home with recitation of the rosary at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church Monday at noon followed by burial at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Springfield R-12 Scholarship Fund and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish.
