Obituary

Margaret (Marge) Ann Neal passed away in the early morning of August 29, 2021, peacefully at home in Fordland, Missouri at the age of 79.

Marge was born on June 16, 1942, in Michael, Illinois to Harold Robeen and Leota Hazelwonder and was baptized in the Catholic church. She recounts one of her earliest memories as a child, eating watercress from the stream by her home in Illinois. Her family, moved to Springfield, Missouri where she spent her childhood with her brother, Jerry and sisters, Carol and Kathy. Marge graduated from Parkview High School in 1957. During this time, she proudly worked very hard to purchase her first car, a 1957 Red Corvette. She was an outgoing, well-liked person, who always put her family first.

Marge is survived by her brother, Jerry Robeen (Wilma Robeen); her three children: Kelly Eggers, Neville Neal and Steve Neal (Mandy Neal). Marge was the very proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Alisha Eggers, April Eggers (Casey Johnson), Angela Eggers, Cassidy Steward (Josh Steward), Bailey Neal, and Addison Neal. She took great pride in her great-grandchildren: Sylus Dunn, Harlin Eggers, Gavin Jensen, Odin Eggers, and the many yet to come.

She is predeceased by her parents Harold and Lee; sisters, Carol Latham and Kathy Aleshire; her only grandson, Mathew Taylor Neal; and her son-in law Greg Eggers.

Marge enjoyed working hard, cooking, baking, gardening, and her family. She devoted her entire life to raising her children and grandchildren. A true matriarch who was a guiding light and a beacon of kindness and compassion in each of their lives. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother.

Her greatest strength was her ability to love unconditionally. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She had a deep and abiding will to live every day to its fullest. She made a difference in the world of her family by taking care of them. She was exceptionally generous and would share anything, most importantly her time. She lived life with enthusiasm and zest, and some would likely describe her as being spunky because she was not afraid to speak her mind. Her presence will be greatly missed by those whose lives were influenced by her.

Please come and celebrate her life with us Saturday, September 4, 2021, from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 East Seminole, Springfield, MO 65804. A graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Billings, MO will immediately follow at 1:00 PM.
