IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Louise
Morrison

Mrs. Morrison was educated in the public schools of Newtonia and Neosho, Missouri. Along with her classmate, Oscar, she was a 1942 graduate of Lincoln School in Neosho.
It was in 1946 that Margaret recognized the true love of her life and on August 18, she was united in holy matrimony to Oscar Morrison. They began their life together in Neosho and immediately relocated to Springfield, Missouri. She remained a caring and devoted wife for the years mentioned above. This union was blessed in 1959 with the birth of their only child, Karl Douglas of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Margaret learned of her need for salvation and professed a hope in Christ at an early age. After moving to Springfield, the Morrisons united with the Historic Washington Avenue Baptist Church, which is now known as Turning Point Church. Margaret loved and had a special devotion her church. Over the years, she sang in the Choir and served in various capacities, such as Women's Missionary Union Secretary and over 50 years as the Church Clerk. Most recently, she truly enjoyed her membership on the Mother's Board. She was truly a Christian woman with a gentle touch and a kind word for everyone.
After completing high school, she began working as a cook at U. S. Army Camp Crowder in Neosho. In Springfield, she spent several years in domestic work until she gained employment at the Sweetheart Paper Co. She worked at this facility for 21 years until her retirement in 1987.
Mrs. Morrison was always active in the Springfield community. She was a long-standing member of the Greater Truth Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and served in positions such as Grand Ada, and Worthy Matron. The Ruth Gleaners Circle and the American Legion Auxiliary were other organizations in which she was able to provide leadership and community service.
A woman with strong family values, Margaret loved and cared for her family and for those around her. She was always ready to prepare a delicious meal for anyone and will always be remembered for her unique and special cooking skills.
Although God loved her most, Margaret Morrison had many who loved her and are left to cherish her memory including her son, Karl and his wife, Deborah; a sister, Carolyn Payton and her husband Edward of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two grand-daughters, Dyan(Tim) Stewart and Karla Gabrielle of Indianapolis; two sisters-in-law, Wantha Hutchinson of Springfield, Missouri and Katherine Green of Hannibal, Missouri.
