Margaret Louise McKinney, 64, of Springfield, Missouri passed away Monday, August 25, 2014 in her home. She was born on November 3, 1949 in Decatur, Illinois to John Lloyd and Hannah Williams Nihiser. Margaret graduated from Eisenhower High School in Decatur in 1967. Margaret was united in marriage to Kenneth Wayne McKinney on March 7, 1969 in Springfield, Illinois. She worked as a CNA for many years. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Cora Marie, Mildred, Bonnie and Ellen; and a brother, John. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; four children, Sherry and husband Randy Roper of Nixa, Patricia Wright and husband Sean of Pana, Illinois, Steven McKinney and his wife Tamara of Springfield, and Amy Givens and husband Joe of Steelville, Missouri; two step-children, Kerri Rassmusen of Hammond, Illinois, and Lorri McKinney of Sullivan, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Nihiser of Decatur, Illinois; and a nephew, Charles Nihiser of Decatur, Illinois. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 11:30 a.m. until service time.
