IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Faye
Lockmiller
March 31, 1933 – November 2, 2024
Margaret Faye Lockmiller, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 2, 2024, with family by her side.
Margaret was born March 31, 1933, in Springfield, MO to Ed and Margaret Gullett. As a child she enjoyed riding her bike and roller skating at Doling Park. She was saved and baptized at High Street Baptist Church as a young teen by W.E. Dowell. She decided to give her heart to Jesus while working in the nursery during a Sunday service.
In 1951, Margaret married Robert Lockmiller, in Harrison, Arkansas. They had three children: Karen, Danny, and Robert Darrell. They spent many weekends fishing at the family cabin on Table Rock Lake. Margaret loved her husband, children, and family but she was crazy about her grandchildren: Stephanie, Bethanie, Christopher, and Courtney; and great grandchildren: Michael, Cooper, and Ellie. She loved being Mimi, spending much of her time taking care of them all.
Margaret was always busy, from her walks with neighbors, to chaperoning all her kids' school events. Later, she found great happiness in volunteering in Karen's elementary school classes, and was awarded Springfield Public School's Volunteer of the Year. The students adored reading, singing, and dancing with Ms. Margaret.
Margaret was involved in Conservative Baptist Church for many years. Her peach dessert, banana bread, and banana pudding were loved by all.
Margaret is survived by her children: Karen Erwin, Danny (Carol) Lockmiller, Robert Darrell (Trish) Lockmiller; grandchildren: Stephanie Thomas, Bethanie (Matt) Kennicott, Christopher (Morgan) Lockmiller, and Courtney (Layton) Harris; great grandchildren: Michael, Cooper and Ellie; brother Eddie (June) Gullett; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Margaret is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert; her parents; brothers: Sonnie, Charlie, and Don; and sister Mary.
Margaret will be remembered for her spirit, service, hospitality and love.
A memorial service will be held on November 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
