Obituary

Margaret "Peggy" Gray Mrs. Gray died Friday, September 17, 2010. She was the daughter of Eunice Dawson and Harry E. May. She was born February 2, 1922 in Sedalia, Missouri. She was the widow of Dr. Gus W. Gray who preceded her in death on December 25, 1993. They were united in marriage on October 4, 1942. Mrs. Gray leaves a son, John Gray and his wife Lisa. Before coming to Springfield in 1977, Mrs. Gray was the president of the dental wives club in Washington, D.C. While residing in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, she was president of the Republican women's club and was Regent of The Davie Poplar chapter of the D.A.R. While in Springfield she was a member of the Rachel Donelson chapter of the D.A.R. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Twin Oaks Country Club. She enjoyed painting, golf and bridge. Memorial services will be held, Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Wesley United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jim Massey officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM in Springfield National Cemetery under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday in the church and Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
