Margaret Ellison, 96, died November 16, 2015, at Springfield Rehabilitation Center. She was born Nov. 1, 1919, in Bosque County Texas, the daughter of Verne and Jess Stephens Gracey. She was married Feb. 16, 1941, to Olyn G. Ellison, who preceded her in death. A member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church, Margaret worked as hostess at the Heer's Garden Room. She later sold cosmetics at Heer's and at Newman's Department Store. She sang in the Sweet Adelines and enjoyed playing bridge with friends. Survivors include: two sons, Gary Ellison and his wife Janet, Springfield; and Jim Ellison, Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Shannon Bailey (Mark), Oakland, Calif., and Mark Ellison (Mary Anne), Kansas City; two nephews, Phil Mauldin, Atlanta, Ga., Greg Mauldin, Louisville, KY; and her brother-in-law, James Norman Mauldin, Springfield. One brother, Edwin, preceded her in death. Visitation will be 12:00pm, service at 12:30pm November 19 at Gorman-Scharpf. Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to First and Calvary Music Department.
