Marcella L. McGhee, formerly Marcella L. Megl, went to be with The Lord on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015. She passed away peacefully at Ozark River View Manor (Ozark, MO). She was born Marcella L. McMillen on Nov. 9, 1921 in St. Louis, MO to Edna and Jewel McMillen. She moved to Springfield during the 1970s. Marcella was the widow of Albert F. Megl and Curtis M. McGhee. She is survived by her loving son, Albert J. Megl, and daughter-in-law, Rosemary (Raleigh, NC); four grandchildren Jason Megl (Martinsville, IN); Angela Megl (Olympia, WA); Adrienne Megl (Redding, CA); Katherine Megl (Houston, TX); and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving niece, Sheila Gould (Nixa, MO), her daughter in the truest sense of the word, as well as 4 great nieces and nephews. Marcella was preceded in death by her beloved parents, sister, June King; brother-in-law, Rev. Gilbert R. King; nephew, Jim King; great niece, Kristy Gould; and a daughter that died at birth. Those who were fortunate to know Marcella will remember her smile, her laughter, her lively disposition, and her delightful sense of humor. She was a kind and generous woman, a loving person, and a faithful Christian. She was an active member of "Walnut Lawn Church of God," and she volunteered for many years at Cox Medical Center. Special thanks to the staff at Ozark River View Manor for their care of this very special lady. A visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015 from 2-3 pm and 6-7 pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E Seminole, Springfield, MO. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 10 am at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
