Marcella E. Backlin, 91, formerly of Fayetteville, Arkansas died April 16, 2015 in Springfield, MO. She was born February 28, 1924 in Blue Island, Illinois to Oscar P. and Alma (Schimmel) Laubscher. She is survived by her son David L. Backlin of Fort Smith, AR; daughter Kathleen Battershell of Fayetteville, AR; one grandson Damien Battershell of Little Rock, AR; and a great-grandson Wyatt. She was preceded in death by her sister Phyllis Laubscher of Blue Island, IL in 2003 and by her husband Archie L. Backlin in 2011. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole St., Springfield, MO, followed by a brief service at 11:30 am.
