Obituary

On January 14, 2013, Mack Roy Pierson left to find the great fishing hole in the sky. Roy was born September 15, 1924 in Joplin, Missouri. He served with the Navy during WWII and retired in 1987 after 35 years as an engineer with KOLR-TV in Springfield, Missouri. Roy was an avid outdoorsman throughout his life. He enjoyed training and watching his bird dogs work and go on point. His first and last love of nature was fishing. He is survived by his wife, Jessie (Bush) Pierson; two daughters, Sylvia A. Pierson, LaPorte, TX and Sheila M. (Pierson) Davis, Gunnison, CO; four step-children, Terri (Smith) Edgar, Lowell, AR, Greg Smith, Marionville, MO, Todd Smith, Weatherford, TX, and Bruce Smith, Dewey, AZ; two granddaughters, eight step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Ted Pierson, Joplin, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is Friday, January 18, 2013 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 East Seminole St. Springfield, Missouri.
