IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lucille
Hillin
January 28, 1924 – January 7, 2017
Lucille Layne Hillin began her journey on earth January 28, 1924. Her parents were Everett Guy Layne and Bessie Cleo (Green) Layne. Lucille was the second oldest of six children. She was a member of Methodist Church Rogersville, Missouri and graduated from Rogersville High School. She continued her studies with courses in Business. Lucille worked as a bookkeeper office manager over the years for a variety of companies including Heers Garden Room, Terrell-Phelps Agency, ASCS Office and for Dr.McElheney.
Lucille was extremely bright and vivacious. She served as President of the Parents Without Partners Organization and was a member of the Soroptimist Club. She loved to square dance and did beautiful crochet and knitting projects which family members treasure.
Following her marriage to Jim Hillin, Lucille retired which gave her the opportunity to travel with Jim as he continued his work in sales. She especially loved their trips to Colorado as they were opportunities to enjoy the beautiful scenery and visit with friends they had made.
Lucille loved her family. She delighted in being Grandma Cille to grandchildren and great-grandchildren who all loved her dearly in return. In recent years Lucille resided at the Cambridge and enjoyed the fellowship with other residents.
Lucille's earthly journey ended on January 7, 2017 just short of her 93rd birthday. Lucille was predeceased by her parents; her husband Jim Hillin; her brothers Lloyd, Gerald (Dorothy), Kenneth (Margaret) and John and sister Beulah Lee (Harold Gray). She is survived by her sons Larry Gray (Jacque), Leslie Gray, Jr (Rochelle), Grandchildren Tamara Gray-Henk (David Henk), Tony Gray (Stacy), Bradley Gray, and Paul Martin (May); Great-grandchildren Connor, Camden, Nathan and Jacob Henk and Alayna Gray; Sisters-in-law Mabel Layne, Wilda Layne, Linda Layne and Pansy Collins (Turner) plus many nieces and nephews.
The family wants to thank Haven Home Health and Haven Hospice in Ozark and Ozark Riverview for the loving compassionate care they gave Lucille.
