Louise Kay Wheeler, 63, of Springfield, Missouri passed away at 4:15AM, Monday, July 13 th at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. She was born May 15, 1957 in Springfield, Missouri to Dr. Francis and Margaret Maple. She married her high school sweetheart James "Mark" Wheeler on December 27 th , 1975.
Louise was a lifetime resident of Springfield, where she went to high school at Glendale and graduated from Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State) after attending William Woods for one year.
She loved to bake pies, cakes, and cookies and be active in her community and her local church, Hope Church. Louise also loved sharing her faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and mentoring other women through faith-based organizations and through her Mary Kay consulting.
Louise is survived by her husband, Mark Wheeler; two sons, Isaac and Nicholaus Wheeler; daughter-in-law Hilary Wheeler; two grandsons, Ben and Jack Wheeler; two brothers, Jon and Tom Maple; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father and mother and sister, Anne Maple.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Louise at Hope Church on Saturday, August 8 th at 10:00AM.
Louise was a thriving lungs transplant recipient of nearly six years so in lieu of flowers/plants any memorial contributions may be made to Mid-America Transplant on her behalf by calling the donor family priority line at (800) 925-3666 or through its website at https://www.midamericatransplant.org
